Mission Possible: How Foundations Are Shaping the Future of Impact Investing

There's been a groundswell of interest in impact investing in recent years, evidenced by new investment tools and on-ramps, larger financial commitments, and a more supportive regulatory environment. Philanthropy, for its part, has been a leader in the field, ensuring a laser focus on impact and providing catalytic capital to attract other types of investors. Today, seeing the potential of impact investing for achieving transformative change, many foundations are looking to invest even greater resources in this new approach.

This 11-week series, produced in partnership with Mission Investors Exchange, will explore what’s next in impact investing and what we can learn from some of the most innovative foundations. Throughout the series, foundation leaders—starting with Carol Larson of The David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Rip Rapson of The Kresge Foundation, and Julia Stasch of MacArthur Foundation—will share their unique experiences, strategies, and vision for their organizations and the broader impact investing ecosystem.
