You guys are so on target with the capacity building lens you present. I have been engaged in nonprofit management and capacity building for the past twenty years in one capacity or another (employee, consultant, volunteer). I was initially introduced to the strength based approach as a student in college - Alverno College, Milwaukee Wisconsin - through its ability-based curriculum with assessment built into all classroom experiences. The instructor, peer and self-assessment was designed to always pull forward the strengths first before identifying any growth need. Then I was introduced to community asset building and strength based approach when introduced to McKnight literature and practices of community assessment. And finally since 2016, as a GEO member, I have been engaged with an affinity group focused on capacity building.
So you can see why I would be a fan of your perspectives on capacity building. A great lens. A great article.
