It’s a tough battle that’s being fought everywhere money is at stake, and group mindset is the safe hiding place. Even in the humanitarian world, people would rather make decisions that cannot be questioned (because that’s what everyone is doing) than actually create positive change. OF COURSE this work is risky. If it’s NOT risky, it’s not going to create change. But sadly, investors don’t really invest in the hopes of making the world better. They invest to feel good about themselves, or to have their “do gooding” formalized in numbers.
Bravery is something that’s been weaned from modern society. Shunned and mocked while pushing towards a goal, it’s only when the brave decision-maker reaches that point of success are they appreciated.
