Very well said. Much better to grow to scale by first being "small and shiny" than "broad and sloppy". It’s very easy for funders who want to look innovative to throw money at promising pilots before they are proven. It is even harder for cash-strapped young nonprofits to turn down the cash and the glory of new investments.
