Another challenging and stimulating piece by Andrew Wolk. It wold be interesting to know more about the performance measures that are being developed. Are the metrics being developed, e.g., state health improvement plans being found to serve a useful need.
Work has been done in our area (Howard County, Maryland) that takess an indepth assessment of the “health and human services workforce”; one that separates and quantifies the investments of human capital (volunteer/paid staff), its interface and interdependence. It would be useful to learn more about what others have done in the area. Volunteerism is critical, but fragile.
This is a very impactful trajectory of social innovation. The empahsis of the importance of providing Sanctuaries for Social and community leaders. The recognition of key components of how we can acheive more with less if we deliberately find new defintions of human contribution through Time Skill Effort and Finances for Social good.
