I have been working on the Neighborhood Redevelopment Initiative, Building Neighborhood Capacity Program. Language is very important when you cross disciplines, jargon like “organic” “revitalization”, coalition and “capacity building” mean different things to urban planners, foundations and Faith based organizations. Lots of time and meetings wasted building a common terminology and subsequent trust. Define your terms is essential to defining your work.
