Wonderful piece, Gabriella. I had no idea that the Mayo Clinic was so focused on design thinking. One thought - my sense is that disruption theorists would argue that the Mayo Clinic is smart to prioritize sustaining, incremental innovation since its customer’s (patient’s) needs are not yet met. They should beware of over-serving the customer (i.e. unnecessary MRIs) because that’s when they are ripe for disruptive innovation.
