In Vermont, state government passed the Outcomes Bill (Act 186) that legislates the use of Results-Based Accountability in state contracts and decision making. Eight population level outcomes were selected, and we are now in the process of convening stakeholders to choose indicators by which to measure progress. It has been a huge step forward in leveraging government funds to drive impact.
