The culture of resilient people!
My country, the Philippines, especially my province in the island of leyte already has felt the extremes of climate change. Slowly our people understands the stresses it brings. It is not so difficult anymore when we start to advocate environmental centered development. Hope this 2015 we could come up with more tangible change.
Thank you so much. The above is an inspiring article for stronger collaborations and more partnerships. Today, we are on the conceptual stage and we hope next time we will be sharing progress.
As long as corporations dictate policy and law we are wasting our time and merely fixing the symptoms without addressing the cause. Democracy has failed to give an equal voice to all since the acceptance of slavery in the Declaration of Independence. The time for compromise has been given a chance and utterly failed. Ill listen to all the right wing rhetoric. This doesn’t mean I will sit idly by while our last remaining forests are plundered so someone can have a better television. Enough talk. The time for action is now.
Just like our Philippine National Greening Program (NGP) govern under executive order 26 wherein 16 national government agencies converged with a common goal to reforest a million hectares and some billion trees.
A very beautiful government policy to answer poverty alleviation through ecosystem services, an all win-win-win-win solution… for planet earth and people. But we will not leave it alone for the concerned agencies to implement.
I left my profession in 2014 and aim to devote my time to become part of the program. Today, taking a bold step to accomplish 3 million seedlings, we work to create a decentralized implementation. So far, no more written policies, no more written contracts of understanding, just bold and flexible commitments as we gather support from local agencies as we move along.
