Here’s my idea for something to measure so that it will get done: measure the health of your land, and use that to get improved land health done. Get that improved land health by paying landowners for the health of their land.
Pay them with money brought in to circulation for that purpose, similar to the currently used method of authorising the central bank to create new money by committee.
Depending on how this new money is priced, a substantial portion of the budget of the central government of the USA could then be paid for with the proceeds from the national lands. The money raised for the budget would not need to be taxed or borrowed, therefore improving the cash flow and reducing the debt burden of us all. The economy would also be helped by the jobs created to measure and track the new money.
