The role of the public sector in creating a positive, enabling environment in support of social enterprise development could be key to its attaining real scale and success in the United States.
Governmental support for social enterprise within the United Kingdom has meant hundreds of social enterprises have met with greater success and generated sustained impact in communities across the nation and there is no reason the United States should not also move to more effectively support social entrepreneurs acting to harness the market for community ends.
The next president would be well served by building upon the work of the previous administration to make social enterprise an important part of their future agenda!
