Your comment about “Real Offers” couldn’t be more accurate. The local Zoo needs to upgrade facilities and cover rising medical costs as well as provides its staff with a cost of living increase after 5 years of no raises…so tell me that my $100 donation covers one month of medical coverage for “Dumbo the Elephant” or “Tony the Tiger”. Or that the new exhibit needs 1,000 donations of $100 each in order to provide a healthier living environment for the endangered Do-Do Bird.
Last year, the best plea I received was to donate $42 so 100 First Class Stamps could be made to cover office expenses. Simple. Practical. Understandable. Do-able.
But in yesterday’s mail, I got the ol’ reliable plea - “It’s been a year…time to renew.” Guess who lost in their bid for my limited budget?
