Co-Leadership Deep Dive: Benefits, Challenges, and How to Make it Work

Why are many organizations turning to co-leadership—and how can they make it work long term? How can leaders share power while balancing the benefits of collaboration with its complexities and risks?

Co-leadership has become increasingly popular in the social sector. SSIR’s upcoming live webinar program will equip nonprofit and philnathropic leaders with the knowledge, tools, and practical insights for navigating shared leadership models.

Join Stanford Social Innovation Review for a program led by experts with over two decades of experience working with co-led organizations. Through research and real-life examples, this webinar will help you determine if co-leadership is the right strategy for your organization (and how to implement it sustainably, if it is). Register now!

In this program, you will:

  • Understand the benefits and potential risks of co-leadership
  • Learn how to assess whether your organization is well-positioned to adopt this model
  • Explore strategies to address and overcome common challenges
  • Gain practical tools for building an effective and sustainable co-leadership structure

Who should attend?
Leaders at organizations who are considering, currently navigating, or supporting co-leadership structures are in the best position to apply the webinar’s takeaways to their work. This includes:

  • Co-leadership teams who want to improve their collaboration and overcome challenges
  • Senior executives and board members who want to explore whether co-leadership could strengthen their organization
  • Funders, philanthropic advisors, consultants, and others who want to support healthy, sustainable leadership practices

The webinar program will also be applicable to aspiring leaders who are curious about future leadership paths, those interested in nonprofit governance and organizational design, and practitioners that are exploring power-sharing models that align with equity values.
