Al Gore at the Council on Foundations meeting today spoke passionately about the need for foundations to align their mission with their investing strategies.

Foundations should not reward financial managers on a quarterly or annual basis.  “Many foundations know this.  And few have done anything about it,” Gore said.

What do you think?  Which foundations are the role models in this?
Which foundations compensate their financial managers based on long-term value?
