Technology for Change
Nonprofits need digital technology to meet today’s pressing challenges and serve their communities. They need to collect data in real time to understand how their beneficiaries are doing and whether their work is making an impact. They must maintain constant communication with clients, staff, funders, policymakers, and other stakeholders, and master social media to raise public awareness and promote their solutions. They must also make decisions about where to invest in software upgrades.
But nonprofits do not necessarily have the resources or skillsets to apply effective digital strategies for all that they do. How can the less digitally savvy become digital leaders? What should a nonprofit executive prioritize in managing a digital overhaul of legacy systems and practices? What lessons has the social sector learned from applying IT to data collection and outreach?
This series, presented in partnership with Salesforce, will explore the many ways in which the social sector can and already is applying a digital-first strategy to boost its effectiveness. Contributors will include nonprofit leaders, digital technology officers, and fundraisers, who will share their experiences, lessons, and strategies for maximizing the benefits of the digital revolution for social good.
